This historic ´Villa Reale´ was built during the ninth century. It has been the residence of noble families and great patrons of art. Elisa Bonaparte became the owner of the villa in 1806. She decided to buy the adjacent villas to create this stunning estate. On entering the property, there are two former barracks of the royal guard, the first one is distributed over 2 levels, of about 300 square metres, the second is around 600 square metres spread out over two floors and a basement. The main villa is distributed over three floors with a total surface area o 2,500 square meters. The property has been very well maintained and the original doors and floors have been impeccably preserved. The residence consists of halls, lounges, dance halls, studies, libraries and many bedrooms and bathrooms, kitchens and a servants´ room. It has been decorated with furnishings dating back to the period it was built in. The bishop´s villa is spread over three floors; above ground is 1,500 square metres. The ´Villa dell´Orologio´(Clock Villa) is four floors, in total around 5,500 square metres. The park was created in the 17th century and covers around 20 hectares. Elisa Bonaparte later added exoctic plants, a pond, swimming pool and a theatre to the residence. The estate however as a whole does need some restoration. It´s location is 30km from Pisa, 40km from Forte dei Marmi and 75km from Florence. Price on application.
