A masterpiece by Architect Sanmicheli in Veneto region
Verona, Italy
VILLA ROMANI MAROGNA
In the town centre of Nogara, in the province of Verona (30 km), only 15 km from Mantua and the A4 motorway (Brenner), arises this important complex of buildings of outstanding historical and artistic interest, designed by architect Sammicheli (1548).
The real estate which lays on the east side of Tartaro river, has about 4 hectares of park-Italian garden. The complex consists of 3 buildings: the Villa itself, the Barchesse on the west side and the Auditorium – staff room.
The Villa, whose south façade is enriched by a beautiful entrance patio, is on three floors with the typical internal distribution of the spaces of the venetian houses, big central hall dividing rooms on three sides. Stuccoes, frescoes and ornaments of the eighteenth-century embellish the interiors. On the ground floor there are an open gallery, a lounge with direct north side garden access, 2 living rooms, study, dining room, kitchen and bathrooms. A grand staircase takes us to the first floor where we are received from a living area with access to 6 big rooms with bathrooms. The second floor, formerly used as a store, has important spaces and windows, therefore it is suitable, after an adequate refurbishment, to be used for further bedrooms and bathrooms.
All this spaces are also appropriate to be used as staterooms.
The Barchesse on the west side are an interesting “L” shaped building. Former hayloft, corn store and pigeon house, then fashionably and functionally rennovated with excellent finishing and systems that allow the use as commercial premises, restaurant or pizzeria. It covers a total of 1,000 sqm. Unbelievable volumes and spaces suitable for executive, commercial or exhibition use.
The Auditorium – staff room is located on the east side of the entrance of the property. It has been recently refurbished for a total of 450 sqm part dwelling and part hall suitable for concerts.
The real estate, with its outstanding historical and artistic importance, is protected by the Regional Board of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage with monumental obligation.
