Berklee College’s campus in Valencia opening soon to offer students a Master’s Degree within the music industry

Exterior of the Berklee Valencia Campus The Berklee College of Music, which has its headquarters situated in Boston, Massachusettes, currently stated that its new campus in Valencia will be opening in September 2012 to welcome students for the Master’s Degree Programme.

Lawrence Berk established the Berklee College in 1945 with the objective to prepare students for a career within the music industry. Since this period, the supply of technology available for musicians and technicians has vastly increased with Berklee remaining at the top with the most up-to-date technology.

This college has an impressive location within Valencia, situated in the fantastic Palau de les Arts Reine Sofia, which is Burklee’s first overseas venture; without a doubt this attractive building will offer an incentive for the first postgraduate intake.

Roger Brown, Berklee’s President, stated: ‘Valencia was selected as the new campus as it is a popular destination for European students as well as the city having an active band tradition with links to some of the richest musical cultures in the world, such as Latin America, the Mediterranean and Europe, thus making it the ideal location.’

The state-of-the-art college will offer students excellent amenities, like the Music Technology Complex, with its magnificent acoustic designs courtesy of Walters-Storyk Design Group, which features a recording studio, project production studios and technology laboratories. In addition, there are fantastic auditoriums for live performances, which seat up to 1,490 visitors in total. The Teatri Martín i Soler is ideal for opera performances as it features an orchestra area and the most modern stage facilities and seats up to 400 visitors.

Berklee Valencia CampusBerklee College has created several popular alumni in its time, such as Quincy Jones, Diana Krall, Aimee Mann, Branford Marsalis, John Mayer and Howard Shore, most famously known as the composer for The Lord of the Rings trilogies. As well as providing musically talented students an excellent standard of education, Berklee College also wants to explore the cultural life within Valencia, thus offering plenty for students to look forward to in 2013.
